Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in Milan Škriniar last summer, but the move didn’t materialse because they failed to find an agreement with Inter Milan.

Calciomercato now revisits the series of incidents that took place in the summer as Spurs were ‘serious’ about signing the centre-back in September 2020.

The 26-year-old was then not included in Antonio Conte’s plans and the north London club tabled a bid worth €35m excluding bonuses.

Inter turned down the approach made by Tottenham since they wanted at least €50m to sanction the Slovakia international’s sale last summer.

Škriniar has now re-established himself under Conte and his impressive performances  mean the Nerazzurri now value him at €60m.

When explaining the player’s displays this term, Calciomercato state Škriniar is ‘dominant and leading as in the past’, so much so that Inter can ‘enjoy the choice’ of not selling him to José Mourinho’s side for €35m.

To sum it up, Inter are delighted they didn’t accept Tottenham’s low offer for Škriniar, who is ‘completely reborn’ today.

The website ends their report by stating: ‘For months, Inter have embraced the real Skriniar. And in the summer there will be no discounts for anyone.’
