Almería remain ‘calm’ about the interest from Everton in striker El Bilal Touré, despite claims the Toffees have increased their bid for him.
That’s according to Diario de Almería, who cover English reports on the matter and explain how they’ve been received by the Spanish side.
Reports in England yesterday stated that Everton had upped their offer for the player to €30m, but the newspaper does not confirm or deny this.
Rather, they explain that such a figure would still be far from the €40m termination clause in his contract, which the rojiblanca’s sports management want met if they are to sell.
It is a figure which is ‘closer to the numbers’ they would be willing to accept for the striker but, seemingly, still not enough for Everton to get their man.
That would suggest nothing is going to happen any time soon and certainly at Almería ‘calm seems to reign’ on the matter.
That’s because they know there are other interested parties such as Atalanta, who are waiting to sell Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, which in turn would see them raise their offer for El Bilal Touré.
Almería’s belief is that they have the ‘upper hand’ in any negotiations, particularly as there are other Premier League sides who are keen but yet to enter the fray.
If nothing changes in the next few hours the player is expected to join pre-season training on Friday or Saturday alongside teammate Srdjan Babic, with both having enjoyed extended holidays.
It’s up to Everton to make the right bid and ensure that doesn’t happen, with Almería calm about the situation at this moment in time.
