Besiktas are continuing to work on a deal to bring Leicester City’s Rachid Ghezzal back to the club this summer after his successful loan spell last season.
That’s according to Sabah, who explain there is a difference between the two clubs over the asking price for the Algerian.
Ghezzal was the star of the show for Besiktas last season, playing a key role as they won the title in Turkey.
They are keen to take him back on a permanent basis and have been locked in negotiations with Leicester, who have been happy to let him go for several weeks.
A deal appeared to be edging closer as Leicester had lowered their demands, and the Super Lig club had already reached an agreement over personal terms.
It seems things are being held up, though, with Sabah explaining that the two clubs are arguing over how the deal will be paid for.
They say Besiktas are ‘busy working’ on a deal for Ghezzal and had an agreement on a €3m deal with Leicester, who demanded a ‘cash payment’.
Besiktas made it clear they’d prefer to pay in instalments, and in response, Leicester told them that if that were to happen, the asking price would be €4m instead.
That has seemingly led to something of a block in negotiations, and Ghezzal’s agent Anouir Fazuli, travelled to Istanbul yesterday ahead of further talks on Tuesday.
That would suggest all parties are keen to get this over the line as soon as possible, with only the method of payment an issue at this point.
