According to Sporx, Galatasaray have given up on Jason Denayer, after Manchester City made it clear that the Belgian is only allowed to leave on loan without an option to buy.
Galatasaray CEO Levent Nafizoglu also confirming the news and added: ”It would not make any sense about Denayer. We already have Aurilen Chedjou, Hakan Balta, Serdar Aziz and Semih Kaya in our central defence.
“That’s enough for a team who are not participating in the European cups. We wanted him with a chance to make it permanent but they rejected it.”
After Galatasaray confirming they’re not signing the Belgian, Swansea emerged as a front-runner to sign Denayer. The Swans want to replace their captain Ashley Williams who joined Everton a couple of weeks ago, and Denayer is their one of primary targets, although the Welsh club have distanced themselves.
Considering Denayer’s playing style, it would be a very good loan move for 21-year old. Denayer previously had loan spells at Celtic and Galatasaray and is under contract at Manchester City until 2020.
