It’s now just a matter of time until the rumours linking Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani to a move to Palmeiras start growing.
This weekend, candidate Leila Pereira won the elections at the Brazilian side. The sponsorship from her companies had a big part in the club’s recent success and now her new role is expected to give them an even better financial condition.
That’s why Palmeiras are expected to continue making big signings, and that’s a subject brought by R7 columnist Cosme Rimoli.
He says Leila Pereira will need to worry about keeping coach Abel Ferreira before working on transfers, and speaking of players who could arrive, there’s Cavani mentioned again.
“More excited advisers exchange messages and warn: Palmeiras will try Cavani,” writes Rimoli, saying the Uruguayan is one of the names on the club’s list for the next year.
Cavani’s contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the season.
Now Boca Juniors and Palmeiras are expected to try to sign him as a free agent, as his stay at Old Trafford is far from being an important issue at the club at this very moment.
