James Rodriguez still hasn’t got a new club, and still doesn’t look an awful lot closer to getting one. The Colombian has now packed his suitcase in Madrid to go on holiday, and Marca say nobody knows if he’ll be returning after the summer break.

Zinedine Zidane isn’t pushing the player out, and if no transfer happens, it’s not going to be a big deal, believe the Spanish newspaper.

Despite the current ‘silence’ on a potential transfer, Real Madrid believe Chelsea are the most interested club, say Marca. It’s claimed that Chelsea tried to sign James during the winter transfer window, but there was no desire for a move midway through the season.

To facilitate a move, Marca say James or his agent, Jorge Mendes, must ‘bring an offer around €75m’. That’s a little over £65m, and that’s the kind of bid Real Madrid are waiting for.

On Sunday, AS, another Spanish newspaper, claimed Antonio Conte has told Roman Abramovich he’d be keen to sign both James and Alvaro Morata.
