It’s been increasingly clear for the past few weeks that Bayern Munich are considering signing Harry Kane in 2023, or least considering trying to.
The England captain has a contract which runs until 2024, so without a renewal Spurs would be under some pressure next summer. That’s the situation that Bayern would be looking to take advantage of, whilst Tottenham would fight against them and work for an extension.
Bild have spoken to ‘club boss’ Oliver Kahn, who dismissed a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, and when asked about the English striker, he said: “Harry Kane is an excellent striker who is under contract with Tottenham.”
According to the German newspaper, Bayern have internally agreed to be measured with their comments on Kane, after Antonio Conte became annoyed with hints from Julian Nagelsmann.
As far as the German club see it, Kane is now aware he’s wanted to next summer, and there’s a hope the temptation will increase over the comings months. Interest has been ‘discreetly expressed’ to those close to the player, namely Charlie Kane, and now it’s a case of waiting to see what will happen.
Tottenham’s success, or otherwise, in the coming season could be key.
