Lucas Perez to Sporting is still a thing in Portugal, where there’s hope the Lions can land the striker from Arsenal despite claims elsewhere that he’s close to West Ham.

Today, it’s Record who has an update on the story, saying the player is still one of the favourite targets for the club board this summer.

Perez’s arrival would depend on several factors. One of them would be the ‘green light’ on his physical condition, as Sporting will only try to sign him if they get a positive clinical opinion.

Another issue highlighted is the competition from West Ham.

It’s claimed that Manuel Pellegrini seems keen on spending on Perez, but could change his mind in case the London side succeed in signing Moussa Marega from Porto.

Perez’s price barely gets a mention today.

Recent reports have claimed that Sporting’s intention is to sign him on a loan deal and an option to buy.

But for now, this seems to be the least concerning factor for this signing.
