For those who thought Barcelona were done with surprising signings this summer, here’s the Spanish media showing up to say they’re coming for more.
Cope journalist Helena Condis now claims the Camp Nou side have not ‘closed’ their window for arrivals, and are now advancing for the signing of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.
This is an update in a story she’d brought a month ago. Back then, it was claimed Barcelona were ‘fully convinced’ they could sign the Portuguese star.
It was said the Catalan side had been in touch with his agent, Jorge Mendes, and his entourage believed that patience was needed. It had also been added that Manchester City were not interested in Frenkie De Jong. Therefore a swap was ruled out.
A month passed, Barcelona made a few other signings, and this new update only claims that the club ‘are going’ for Bernardo Silva once again. Still, there’s no big information on how the situation developed since then.
Last week, Catalan newspaper Sport claimed that the 27-year-old continues to be interested in Manchester City, and wants to join Barça even if he needs to wait until the end of his contract, which expires next year.
