Last Friday, we covered claims from Italy that Manchester City are providing competition to Inter Milan to sign Tajon Buchanan. AFC Bournemouth have now joined the race for the Club Brugge player.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say both the Citizens and Andoni Iraola’s side are monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation.

Neither Manchester City or Bournemouth have made firm advances to sign the right-back, who has his heart set on joining Inter.

The Canada international views the Serie A side as the perfect step and Inter, led by their CEO Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director, Piero Ausilio, are working to get the deal over the line in the winter market.

It’s claimed Club Brugge are ‘cautious’ to give the green light to the Nerazzurri because of Pep Guardiola’s side and the Cherries.

They value the fullback at €12-13m while Inter’s aim [after the player said yes to joining them] is to lower the price and sign him on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

Calciomercato state the Jupiler Pro League side are aiming to collect €1-2m immediately as a loan fee from Inter, if they decide to let the player move to the San Siro on that basis.

At the same time, they are also ‘awaiting a lunge’ from Manchester City and Bournemouth to start an auction for Buchanan. If the Premier League duo are keen to sign him, they’ll have to convince the Canadian to stand a chance to acquire his signature next month.
