As you’ll probably know by now, Napoli are interested in bringing in Tanguy Ndombélé from Tottenham to make up for the fact they are selling Fabián Ruiz to Paris Saint-Germain.
Their issue, however, is financial, since they can’t afford him in a direct transfer, and his wages are an issue for them as well.
Therefore, the club are hoping that Tottenham will help them out one way or another to get a deal over the line, which, in turn, would also get the player far away from Antonio Conte, who doesn’t seem intent on using him.
Earlier on Monday, Gazzetta dello Sport were reporting that the player was on €8m/year post tax at Spurs, with Napoli only wanting to pay €4m of that.
That’s 50% of his current salary, but La Repubblica, relayed by Napoli Magazine, believe the Serie A side want to pay even less than that.
They claim Napoli are ‘prepared to pay 30% of his salary, leaving Tottenham to pay the remaining 70%’ for the duration of what would most definitely be a loan.
Those are terms Spurs and Daniel Levy are almost certain to reject, meaning Aurelio De Laurentiis is going to have to do better than that if he wants to bolster his team with the Frenchman going forwards.
