When Leicester signed Fousseni Diabaté from Gazélec Ajaccio, a few eyebrows were raised, despite the transfer clearly being one for the future at just £1.8m.
A few games here and there in the cups allowed Foxes fans to get an idea of the type of player they could have down the line, but Claude Puel has struggled to play him continuously, meaning a loan could be on the cards for some extra game time.
According to Ouest-France, SM Caen are looking at the possibility of bringing the 23-year-old in temporarily, having ‘asked for information’ about his situation.
Diabaté is exactly the type of player the Ligue 1 side are looking for, capable of both scoring and creating while panicking defences with a good ability one on one.
However, they face some strong competition, as Fenerbahce are also said to be keeping an eye on the forward’s situation, who is contracted with at King Power Stadium until 2022.
Diabaté has made just three appearances for the Leicester first-team this season.
