Serie A side La Spezia have ‘asked’ for the loan of Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu, according to reports from Italy.
ANSA write that manager Luca Gotti, who was an assistant at the Blues during Maurizio Sarri’s spell at the club, already trained the player in London and would like to have him again.
It’s claimed that a response from Chelsea should come ‘at the end of the summer tour’.
For now, the report doesn’t say if the Stamford Bridge side are keen on letting the youngster move on a temporary deal or not.
Since being promoted to the Blues’ first team, the centre-back has made 12 appearances for the club, but spent the following years on loans.
He first played for RB Leipzig in the 2019/20 season, having then moved to Sheffield United for the following year.
Ampadu spent the last season in Italy, where he was on loan at Venezia, where he made 30 appearances, and seems to have left a good impression in the league.
