The Andreas Pereira saga seems to be finally coming to an end.
According to Goal Brasil, Flamengo are now ‘very close’ to making a decision on his future, as they have set a meeting with the midfielder’s representatives.
Pereira is loaned by Manchester United until the end of June, and that’s the deadline the Brazilian club have to decide whether to buy him or send him back to England.
When the loan was agreed, the clubs agreed to a buying option worth €20m. Given the player’s not quite impressive spell, they now have a deal for only €10m.
Goal Brasil claims that the chances of a permanent move are ‘very little’, mentioning that since the agreement with Manchester United for that new price, Pereira got worse and Flamengo ‘reevaluated the situation’.
So the Red Devils would still need to give a new discount to make the transfer possible, and that’s considered unlikely. It’s said even the player himself is ‘undecided’ about his future, with the Brazilian club taking so long to sort his situation.
