Despite claims of Lille considering a loan offer from Crystal Palace for Ibrahim Amadou, it appears the Ligue 1 side have now changed their mind and aren’t interested in seeing their captain leave.

All of this despite the player, according to Sky Sports, jumping on a Eurostar to London in order to try and force a move to the Premier League, with both the Eagles and West Ham ready to welcome him.

According to RMC Sport in France, Gérard Lopez, the club’s owner, took the decision late on Wednesday that no more players would be leaving the club in order to ensure Lille stay in Ligue 1 this year.

One point above the relegation zone, Lille have only sold their young forward Martin Terrier, currently on loan at Strasbourg, to Lyon, meaning Christophe Galtier, who took over from Marcelo Bielsa, will be using the same squad for the second half of the season.

This means that, barring an amazing offer from either Crystal Palace or West Ham in the dying hours of the transfer window, Amadou will need to find himself a return train to Lille fairly soon.

That, and both David Moyes and Roy Hodgson will have to look elsewhere for a new defensive midfielder.

In other words, he’s going nowhere.
