Barcelona are not ‘ruling out’ a move for Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilón this summer as they look to add a new left-back to their squad.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Spurs man is one of several options they are looking at.

The newspaper explains that Barcelona’s focus is currently on Celta Vigo defender Javi Galán as he is liked by manager Xavi Hernandez.

Galán has been ‘excelling’ in his first season with Celta, and that has caught Barcelona’s attention, making him a ‘strong contender’ as they look for left-backs this summer.

The Catalans want competition, and a potential long-term replacement, for Jordi Alba and Galán would be a ‘low cost’ option to do just that.

Xavi is a big ‘endorser’ of the player, but he is not the only one that they are looking at, and there are several options on the list.

One of them is Tottenham’s Reguilón, who, while being more towards the bottom of the list, is one that the club are not ‘ruling out’ at this moment in time.

Any moves Barcelona make this summer, though, will be dependent on the money they have left after signing a striker and who they can sell from the current squad.

Funds might be tight, then, making Reguilón a difficult option as Tottenham are unlikely to let a player they paid €27m for in September 2020 go on the cheap.
