Turkish side Besiktas have announced Rıdvan Yılmaz’s move to Rangers to the Turkish Stock Exchange, suggesting a deal is close.
That’s according to Haber Aktuel and MiliGazete, who cover the announcement to the KAP today.
The former states that Besiktas have already lined up a replacement for Yilmaz in Tayfur Bingöl, with Yilmaz, set to seal a €6.5m move to Ibrox imminently.
The Black and Whites have announced the deal with Rangers to the Turkish Stock Exchange with a statement, which MiliGazete cover in greater detail.
‘Negotiations have started regarding the definitive transfer of our professional footballer Rıdvan Yılmaz to Rangers FC Club,”’ they report it as saying.
They also carry a short statement from the player, which reads, “Farewell was difficult…. Separations are also included in love. We always have a brotherhood with Ersin. Thank you to everyone,” which further hints a move is on the cards soon.
According to Haber Aktuel, Yilmaz had an agreement in place with Eintracht Frankfurt, but that fell by the wayside as the two clubs couldn’t agree on how the €6.5m fee would be paid.
Rangers, on the other hand, didn’t create such problems and were even happy to include a 20% future sale clause in the deal. That, of course, further pleased Besiktas, and they finalised negotiations quickly.
Yilmaz is now set to become the latest addition to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side, and according to Gazete Ilksayfa sat out training yesterday to avoid any last-minute issues.
