Manchester United loanee Joel Pereira is returning from his loan spell at Vitória de Setúbal.

It was the Portuguese club who officialy announced it today. They say they ‘thank the athlete for all the hard work and professionalism shown during the period in which he represented the club and also thank Manchester United for the cooperation’.

Joel Pereira had been sent to Vitória at the start of the season.

Former Man United manager José Mourinho had big trust in the player’s potential, and sent him saying the goalkeeper ‘needed to play’.

Pereira even conquered a starting spot in the team in his first few months, and made ten appearances, but has been used in only one of Vitória’s last six league games.

Mourinho had a pretty good relationship with Vitória de Setúbal as he was born in the city, his father played for the club and he also had a job as an assistant there.

But weeks after the Portuguese boss was sacked, Joel is brought back to Old Trafford.

Probably just a mere coincidence.
