Arsenal are eyeing up a move for Denis Zakaria in the summer.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers in Germany, who, when reporting the news that the Switzerland international will leave on a free when the season ends, add that the Gunners, among others, ‘express interest’ in the player.
After months of uncertainty, Borussia Mönchengladbach officially announced on Wednesday that both Zakaria and Matthias Ginter would be leaving come the end of the season, seeking greener pastures with no transfer fee.
This, of course, will lead to endless speculation, and Fussball Transfers claim Arsenal are in the mix, with it reported multiple times in the past that the Swiss player would prefer a move to the Premier League if it presented itself.
Whether the Gunners will come forward in January to offer him a contract as he enters the final six months of his deal remains to be seen, but the website certainly think they could do.
This comes a few weeks after the same Fussball Transfers reported that Arsenal were ‘more concretely interested’ than other names that have been thrown around, such as Manchester United and Manchester City.
