Reports from the Portuguese media continue to say that Sporting will trigger the buying option they have over Manchester City full-back Pedro Porro.

Even though the player is loaned to the Lions until 2022, the Lisbon side are expected to anticipate this and sign the player permanently this summer, according to Correio da Manhã today.

The newspaper says Sporting are happy to either hold him for the next season or even sell him for profit in the upcoming transfer window.

It’s said Porro’s form has been drawing the interest from European clubs, and considering that he could be called up to play the Euro for Spain, then the Lions could soon sell him for double the price they’re spending on the signing.

Manchester City’s deal with Sporting says the Lisbon side only need to pay €8.5m to buy the right-back.

Correio da Manhã also points out that Pep Guardiola’s side are interested in Lions’ left-back Nuno Mendes, so there’s a chance the clubs could find a deal and use Porro as a discount in the transfer of the Portuguese youngster.
