Diogo Dalot has had something of a mixed season whilst on loan with AC Milan from Manchester United, playing around 2000 minutes across all competitions.
The Portuguese fullback was a signing of the Jose Mourinho era and unable to find the minutes he needed under the Portuguese coach or then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to progress his talent. Therefore, a move to Milan didn’t seem such a bad idea, even if it was clear he’d have to fight for his place.
Dalot has proved an option for the Rossoneri on both sides of the Serie A club’s defence, and it would appear he’s done enough to convince them to keep him around. However, AC Milan, naturally, are looking for a deal which benefits them.
MilanNews24 reports the club have ‘already started negotiations’ with Manchester United and would be hoping to loan Dalot for a further season. On top of that they’d like a clause enabling them to sign the player for €15m.
Such a scenario doesn’t seem too attractive for Manchester United, with all the power resting on the Milan side. The Premier League club would therefore probably push for a better deal.
