Inter Milan have identified Leicester City’s Çağlar Söyüncü as one of their targets to replace Milan Škriniar if the Slovakian decides against signing a new deal at the San Siro, according to Calciomercato.
Škriniar has entered the final year of his deal and it is not clear whether he will commit his long-term future to the club. Paris Saint-Germain wanted him in the summer window, and they are still interested in him.
The Ligue 1 winners’ wages offer for the defender is around €7.7m, while the Nerazzurri cannot reach this figure. In fact, they cannot go beyond an offer of €6.5m per year. Due to this, the Italian club are looking at options in the market and one of them is the Leicester player.
Like Škriniar, the Turkey international’s contract at the King Power Stadium runs down in 2023. He has not featured for the Foxes in the league this term and his only appearance came in Leicester’s EFL Cup victory over Stockport County.
In search for Škriniar’s successor in the market, Calciomercato state a foreign track can lead to Brendan Rodgers’ man.
Inter will face competition from Atlético Madrid, and the La Liga side have ‘already started contacts’ to sign Söyüncü.
