With the January transfer window now over, clubs are turning their attention to the summer and Inter Milan are no different.
The Italian side had a busy window signing the likes of Christian Eriksen from Tottenham and Ashley Young from Manchester United and, rather than resting on their laurels; they are now planning for next season.
And according to Corriere Dello Sport, that could lead them back to Manchester United as they look to add to their squad.
The newspaper reports that the Italian side have their eye on potential free signings and want to bring at least one such player in.
The ‘most recurrent’ name on the list of potential targets is that of Manchester United forward Tahith Chong.
He is set to leave United in the summer, having made just 12 senior appearances for the club, and Inter are keen on his signature.
According to Corriere, negotiations with the Manchester United youngster’s representatives, the Stellar Group, have already been completed but there is a ‘difference in the numbers’.
They are to do with the recruitment and commissions, although it is not made clear what they are at present.
Inter would like to ‘borrow’ Chong and initially loan him out to Jiangsu, who are owned by the same people in charge at Inter Milan, or another ‘friendly’ team.
They consider Chong a ‘great investment’ for the future and don’t want to miss out on him to other suitors when he becomes available in the summer.
