Over the past week or so, we covered claims from Spain that Real Sociedad are keen on signing Manchester City’s Sergio Gómez.
Three days ago, AS said the La Liga side are working on a formula to convince Manchester City after reaching a ‘total understanding’ with the left-back.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo also claims La Real have ‘arranged everything’ with the Manchester City player.
The 23-year-old wants to join Real Sociedad and he made this clear the moment they first made an approach.
Manchester City paid €15m to buy him from Anderlecht in August 2022. The report says they are requesting for the same figure to sanction his sale this summer. This, coupled with Milan and an unnamed side’s interest in Gómez is an obstacle for the Spanish club.
It’s claimed Real Sociedad are still focusing on making the transfer cheaper, probably by inserting a sell-on clause or a buyback option.
Mundo add La Real are looking to sell Robin Le Normand to Atlético Madrid for €30m plus bonuses, and they aim to use this money to sign Gómez.
To sum it up, Real Sociedad have a deal in place with the player, and are now working to convince Manchester City to ‘lower the price’.
