Club have had agreement with Rangers star ‘for a few weeks’ – Need to sell before making move

Having signed Jonathan David and Burak Yilmaz to compensate for the sale of Victor Osimhen, Lille are covered up front for the time being.

There was also a lot of talk about a move for Alfredo Morelos, but Rangers were standing their ground regarding the asking price, and a transfer never took place.

That could still change, however, depending on how the end of the transfer window goes for Lille, because the departure of Jonathan Ikoné could kickstart a late rush.

This is what L’Equipe have been reporting, explaining that Borussia Dortmund are after the Frenchman’s services, ‘just like another German team’.

Add to that ‘two English clubs of medium stature manifesting themselves’, and there’s a chance movement could take place between now and October 5th.

Should that happen, ‘he would be replaced by the Rangers forward, Alfredo Morelos’.

They remind their readers Lille have had ‘an agreement with him for a few weeks’, but ‘not with his club’.

So, Morelos’ exit from Ibrox rests entirely on Ikoné’s from Lille for now, so it might be worth for Rangers fans paying attention to French transfer news over the next 10 days or so.
