It’s been a long time since Kylian Mbappé’s wish to join Real Madrid was revealed, making it no secret that he’d let his contract with Paris Saint Germain run out so he could move to the Santiago Bernabeu for free.
Now with the 23-year-old undoubtedly being one of the best players of his generation, there were always other clubs trying to to get a chance of signing him, and one of them were Manchester United.
According to new reports from France, the Red Devils tried to sign the Frenchman, while Marcus Rashford could have gone the other way. That happened last summer, and did not work out.
The claims come from journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who states that Paris Saint-Germain had ‘an agreement in principle’ with Marcus Rashford while Manchester United tried to sign Mbappé.
It’s said the Premier League giants were ready to offer the French star a contract, but the player had already chosen Real Madrid as his next destination, ending any chances of that deal.
Now in the current scenario, Hawkins claims PSG haven’t forgotten about Manchester United star, as the player is ‘still in their sights’.
Meanwhile, Mbappe is still to find a ‘total agreement’ with the La Liga side.
