On December 27th, we carried a report from AS, who claimed that Brahim Diaz of Manchester City is close to being a Real Madrid player and the operation to bring the midfielder to Santiago Bernabeu could be advanced to January.

The 19-year-old’s contract at the Etihad runs down after the end of the season and even after Pep Guardiola urged him to sign a new deal, the Champions League winners have convinced him not to sign an extension.

Another Spanish newspaper Marca brings the latest update about the teenager and their report has a headline ‘Brahim Diaz is coming’.

The City player has two great aspirations and they are to return to his homeland with his family and to play for the 13-time European champions.

It is explained that his both aspirations could be fulfilled at once after the two clubs agreed a €15m fee for Diaz’s sale in January and he will sign a long-term contract with Los Blancos.

At the Spanish capital club, Diaz will play for the first team and will earn an annual salary of €3.5m.

Marca reports that intention of Real Madrid is to announce his signing so that they can present him to the media next week.
