Turkish website Asist Analiz report Fenerbahce are targeting Arsenal defender David Luiz ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Yellow Canaries want to strengthen their squad this summer, and they’ve reportedly identified the Brazilian as a target. It’s claimed Fener are in advanced talks with the Arsenal man as they look to sign him on a free transfer.
Luiz’s contract with Arsenal will expire at the end of the season but the Gunners have the option to extend it for a further year. However, Asist Analiz claim neither Luiz or the Premier League club are looking to extend it, so there’s a significant chance of him heading to Istanbul.
According to the claims, Luiz initially wanted a return to his former club Benfica, but now Fenerbahce are leading the race after offering better wages.
His Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil also spoke highly of Fenerbahce, which is another factor that put the Super Lig side in pole position to sign the player.
Luiz has made 32 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, scoring two goals.
