Marco Silva has used Andreas Pereira as a substitute on repeat occasions at Fulham this year.

The midfielder’s contract lasts until 2026, with an option for another year. Two days ago, we covered claims from Brazil which stated he feels undervalued at Fulham and doesn’t want to renew the contract.

Flamengo have been credited with interest in the 29-year-old. Recent claims have said the cost of the operation forces means they can’t go ahead with this operation.

Journalist Bruno Lemos took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide an update on the Brazilian club’s plan to sign the Fulham player.

Flamengo had ‘successful talks’ with Pereira’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci and are ‘moving forward’ to secure his services in the summer window. They can use Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz as an ‘important asset’ to negotiate for the former Manchester United man.

The South American club sold Muniz to Fulham in 2021 and are entitled to receive 20% from a future sale. Lemos claims they plan to give this up in order to lower the price for Pereira.

Flamengo have no intention to offer the €20m fee that Palmeiras proposed in the winter market.

Pereira was on loan with the Brazilian club during the 2021/22 season. They are counting on his desire to return to the club and Bertolucci’s ‘ability to facilitate’ the transfer.

In addition to this, Flamengo can count on the funds they will receive from the FIFA Club World Cup [at least €13.9m] and Carlos Alcaraz’s sale [€19.2m] to Everton. They can use part of these funds to improve their squad, including to sign the Fulham man.
