Much like what happened with Kurt Zouma when the now Chelsea defender was at Saint-Etienne, half of Europe are keeping an eye in William Saliba.

The young centre-back has only played a handful of games this season (just 10 league appearances), but his performances have been good enough that Manchester United, among others, have declared their interest.

Le10 Sport stated a while back that Saint-Etienne, in a bid to put off clubs, were ready to ask for €30m for the 18-year-old, and that has kept most at bay for now.

However, should someone come with the desired amount, they would be willing to part ways with the defender, and the same website explain they would also have another request: for him to be loaned back to the club for an extra season.

That way, the defender would be able to continue his development with the club (Kurt Zouma did something similar after putting pen to paper on his Chelsea deal) and would give the Ligue 1 side ample time to find a suitable replacement.

Le10 Sport claim that, despite Manchester United’s ‘pressing interest’, Saint-Etienne are yet to receive an adequate offer for the youngster.
