It’s all set for Fluminense goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga to sign for Liverpool, according to claims from Brazil on Friday.
Globo Esporte reports the Rio de Janeiro side have finally accepted a bid made by the Reds for the 17-year-old. There are now only bureaucratic details for the move to be completed.
They say the player is soon travelling to England and will sign a three-year contract with the Premier League side, with an option to renew for another two.
Even though he’s still to turn 18, the fact he has a German passport makes him free to make the transfer now.
Globo Esporte confirms a previous report from UOL which said Liverpool are initially paying €1m for the move, and there’s another €1m depending on bonuses.
The Reds had made a smaller offer initially, which was turned down by Fluminense, with the Brazilian club also demanding 25% of a future transfer.
In the end, Liverpool ended up accepting the demands.
