When Italian clubs sign players on loan deals that include buying options, they rarely trigger those clauses, and usually prefer to negotiate for a smaller fee.

That’s the case of Torino, who had Nikola Vlasic sent by West Ham United last summer, and who are now trying to get a discount for his purchase.

Outlet La Stampa today features a story about that saga, as the Serie A side don’t want to pay the €13m plus €3m in bonuses agreed in the first deal.

It’s said Torino are ‘in a hurry’ to get deals done, and now have ‘until the 11th’ of June to convince West Ham to lower the price.

The report claims the fee has already gone to only €13m, but the Serie A side ‘would like to save’ other €2m or €3m.

For now, La Stampa doesn’t say if West Ham will be on board with the operation. They could just bring the player back to London, as he has a contract with them running until 2026, although it seems unlikely considering he never fit in under David Moyes.

Featuring for Torino this season, the striker had five goals and eight assists in 37 appearances.
