Teun Koopmeiners has been linked with a move to Liverpool for months. More recently, other Premier League sides have been credited with interest, and that’s seen the player’s potential price rise.
Atalanta will obviously feel they can keep going higher if big English clubs are in the picture. They successfully did that with Manchester United and Rasmus Hojlund, managing to get more out of the Red Devils than even their initial asking price had been.
In May, there were claims that Liverpool had initiated contact with the midfielder’s camp, so that they could find out the conditions of a summer move.
Monday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports Liverpool and Juventus are still very much in the picture for Koopmeiners. Atalanta want €60m, which feels inflated, and the Italian newspaper explains they’ll only sell one of the Dutchman and Ederson.
Liverpool have been linked to the latter as well, and there’s interest from elsewhere… just like with Koopmeiners.
Arne Slot’s side will need to hurry if they’re serious about completing a deal for one of them, before someone else beats them to it.
Of the pair, Koopmeiners is described as being ‘closest to the sale’.
