The man looking well placed to take part in Manchester United’s first summer transfer, for the first team squad anyway, is Matteo Darmian.
At the weekend, Turin newspaper Tuttosport splashed the Italian across their front page, and not for the first time claimed Darmian has given his ‘yes’ to a move to Juventus.
It’s no surprise, clearly not having a meaningful role at Manchester United, the offer a move to the Italian champions has got to be a tempting one and therefore Darmian will have always been expected to say yes.
The fullback to Juventus is ‘very close’ according to Tuttosport and now it’s time for the clubs to decide on the price and timing of a deal.
Juve’s Giuseppe Marotta and Manchester United’s Ed Woodward are set for an ‘acceleration’ on the deal, according to Tuttosport, and the relationship between the two clubs is said to be ‘excellent’.
As they often seem to do, and do well, Juventus are looking to get their transfers in line before the market goes crazy in the summer. It’s probably something Manchester United can learn from.
