Mundo Deportivo and Sport disagree on the likelihood of Clement Lenglet joining Barcelona this summer. Fitting their general character, Mundo Deportivo are more cautious, whilst their Catalan twin is talking things through the roof.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo bring more caution, and a clarification on the player’s buyout clause. Widely reported as €30m, it’s explained it’ll actually cost €35m to force the move from Sevilla in the summer window.
It still makes Lenglet a cheaper option than many for Barcelona and provides a quality option should the club want to take it.
Mundo Deportivo believe Lenglet is more of an option if Samuel Umtiti doesn’t renew his contract, but Sport believe Barcelona are interested regardless.
The former point out that Lenglet simply wouldn’t be interested in leaving Sevilla to be somebody’s deputy elsewhere, and ut’s felt that’s what he would be at Barcelona.
Barcelona are said to be aware of this and, for Mundo Deportivo, that means the chances of Lenglet arriving at the Camp Nou ‘are not high’.
