On November 30th, Diario de Sevilla stated Brighton & Hove Albion are following Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez.
This is now backed up by ABC Sevilla, who provide the latest on the Premier League side’s efforts to sign the 20-year-old.
He’s cemented a place at the La Liga side this season and his form caught Brighton’s attention, who have sent scouts to take a closer look at the right-back.
It’s even claimed Roberto De Zerbi’s side have moved more strongly ‘in recent days’, and even asked about the fee needed to secure the fullback’s services.
The Seagulls haven’t yet made a formal offer to the Andalusian club, but the report claims they have a ‘clear interest’ in the Spaniard.
Juanlu has a contract lasting until 2026 and ABC Sevilla state it includes a €15m release clause, which will rise to €25m in the winter market.
His sale could help the Spanish club raise funds needed to reshape the squad in the next window.
There’s no mention of any discounts being offered by Sevilla meaning Brighton, who ‘ask for a price’ for Juanlu, will have to negotiate down from €25m.
