Brendan Rodgers and Celtic need every bit of help they can get ahead of welcoming Bayern Munich. The German champions, who are very much on course to win the Bundesliga again this season, will be confident ahead of their trip to Celtic Park.
That’s been given a further boost, with Bild reporting Robert Lewandowski has been given the fitness ‘all clear’ after a scare. Coming off against RB Leipzig this weekend, the Polish striker afterwards made clear that it wasn’t a serious injury issue.
In fact, rather than the striker being injured at all, Lewandowski assured the German media, and Bayern fans, that he’d simply been feeling a bit of cramp and it was therefore a precaution to come off. Bild say he’s been given the ‘all clear’.
There’s now no injury concern for Lewandowski ahead of his trip to face the Scottish Premiership champions, and he’s fit to appear at Celtic Park.
Whether he does start against Celtic could be another matter, there’s every chance the German club feel they can rest a star or two for the Glasgow trip, and make things just a little easier for Brendan Rodgers.
