Leeds United, Southampton and Sheffield United are among the clubs in the mix to sign FC St. Gallen’s Willem Geubbels this summer.

Last month, Berliner Kurier stated Leeds could make an offer to secure the 23-year-old’s services. Geubbels said he’s ready to discuss a move if he receives an offer this summer.

Fussball Transfers now report Leeds, Southampton, Sheffield United, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1. FC Köln and Union Berlin are all interested parties.

The striker starred for the Swiss club, scoring 17 goals and registering three assists from 41 games this season. Last December, St. Gallen rewarded him with a new contract until 2027.

There’s been claims of the Frenchman having a €5.5m release clause in his contract. According to Fussball Transfers, this was valid for the winter market, but the figure was higher than €5.5m. They add the ‘clause is no longer valid’ for the summer window.

Therefore, Leeds, Southampton, Sheffield United or any other club will have to negotiate with St. Gallen and convince the attacker if they want to sign him.

The report makes no mention of the Swiss club’s request or if any of the interested clubs are willing to make an offer.
