Claudio Ranieri started his coaching career in 1986 and has won only one top division title so far.
That came with Leicester City when he guided the Foxes to a legendary Premier League title in the 2015/16 season. They appointed the former Chelsea manager as Nigel Pearson’s successor in 2015 and he helped them win the title in his first season on his return to the Premier League.
Leicester recently unveiled a state of their former chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and the Italian was part of the ceremony.
Despite winning the only title of his managerial career with Leicester, the 70-year-old’s affection still lies with AS Roma. Ranieri, who was born in Rome, played for the Giallorossi and managed them on two different occasions.
Brendan Rodgers’ side could possibly face Roma in the UEFA Conference League, if the two sides progress to the semi-final of the competition.
Gazzetta dello Sport interviewed Ranieri and when asked who he will support if Leicester are pitted against Roma, he said: “But it’s obvious: I always stay Roman and Romanista.”
