AC Milan’s negotiations to renew M’Baye Niang’s contract have stalled, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
The website says that the club have been trying to find a new deal with the attacker, but haven’t received a positive response from his representatives yet. Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City tried to buy Niang during the last winter transfer window, and this time Arsenal have been linked.
Milan have the renewal of youngsters’ contracts as a priority for the future. That’s why they’re working on several deals and offered Niang €1.4m per season. The idea is to change the expiry date from 2019 to 2021.
But given the lack of communication, it’s likely that both parties will only sit and talk later, during the months of February and March.
Calcio Mercato says that one of the reasons why Milan are in a hurry to give Niang a new deal is because several clubs are after him, with Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco between them.
Leicester City’s interest has been reported more strongly and it’s perhaps they rather than Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal would would be most interested.
