There appears to be a lot of confusion regarding West Ham United and an alleged bid for Inter Milan’s Valentin Carboni.

The news emerged on Thursday, with it claimed in Italy the Hammers had put £11m on the table, which was then followed by a £12m report in Argentina.

This is now all being denied by InterLive, whose information is that West Ham, while interested, have not come forward with a bid.

They report that they have ‘received denials’ about the news, and while Carboni has ‘attracted the attention’ of the scouts sent by the Hammers in Italy, ‘no offer’ has been made from the English club for the young attacking midfielder.

As has been repeated elsewhere, Inter Milan would not consider a sale in January barring offers they consider indecent, especially because they know he has ‘admirers abroad’, with England and Spain named as countries where big clubs are lurking, as well as Italy.

Furthermore, Monza’s CEO, Adriano Galliani, made it clear that Carboni would ‘absolutely’ be staying on loan at the club until the end of the season.

Therefore, it’s worth taking all these claims of a West Ham bid with a pinch of salt for the time being, it seems.
