Enzo Zidane to Middlesbrough refuses to die, and on Monday El Confidencial talk about the player’s impending Real Madrid exit. They say that whilst the son of manager Zinedine Zidane is talented, he’s probably not going to be able to make the breakthrough to Real Madrid’s first team, although he now, thanks to pre-season, has some appearances to look back upon.
El Confidencial state that Zidane has a ‘form offer on the table’ to join Middlesbrough, with Aitor Karanka being named as key.
Still, a lot of this would, in our opinion be based upon assumption and other people reporting it. El Confidencial don’t say the claims are down to their own information, but equally don’t credit anyone else with starting them.
What may make this now more likely, and it’s not a great step forward, is that El Confidencial seem to believe any exit would be permanent, rather than a loan move. That would certainly be more attractive for Middlesbrough, who are clearly keen on adding young talented players.
It’s one thing having to put effort into developing a player for Real Madrid, and quite another when Middlesbrough would be the long term beneficiaries.
