If Abidjan Show in Ivory Coast are to be believed, certain people close to Tottenham wouldn’t be against Serge Aurier leaving the club in the near future.
These claims are to be taken very loosely for now, but the website report they have been informed of a ‘plot’ put in place to try and get the right-back to leave Spurs.
According to their sources, Abidjan Show have been told those behind this conspiracy are ‘journalists and activists close to the club whose names have been kept secret’.
They said: “These guys are after Aurier. They want him to leave Tottenham, but Aurier still has his manager’s trust”.
We’re not quite sure what to make of this for now, but we wouldn’t be doing our duty if we didn’t let you know this story was out there, as ridiculous sounding as it is.
Bought from Paris Saint-Germain last summer for around £22.5m, the 25-year-old spent most of his first season playing second fiddle to Kieran Trippier, but still managed to get 17 league appearances under his belt.
In that time, he managed to score two goals and pick up two assists, with his last game for the club being dating back to April 17th during a 1-1 draw against Brighton.
