On our sweep of the Argentine newspapers this morning, we found a story from Olé saying Manchester City are in talks for the signing of Nicolas De La Cruz from River Plate.
Now it turns out that digging a little more, we’ve seen that the was on TV last night, with two TNT journalists talking about it.
One of them was Hernán Castilllo. He first tweeted that De La Cruz is ‘very close to leaving’ River Plate, and later revealed that the club interested in the winger are Manchester City.
Veronica Brunati, also on Twitter, said Pep Guardiola contacted an Argentine manager with the help of Mikel Arteta, and asked for information on De La Cruz.
She also claimed negotiations are well underway, but for some reason, her tweet was deleted. It’s been covered by a few websites, such as Bola Vip.
De La Cruz is protected by a release clause of €22m, and according to Olé, that’s what Manchester City are looking to pay for him.
