According to claims in the German media Werder Bremen will allow Felix Wiedwald to leave this summer.

Leeds United have been linked with the German goalkeeper in recent days, and the Championship side could be on course to make another signing after the arrival of Mateusz Klich last week.

Yesterday Kicker claimed Wiedwald will make the switch to Leeds United after a proposal from the English club.

Today Weser Kurier have reported Werder Bremen will not stand in the way of Wiedwald leaving this summer because he’s no longer rated by the club’s sporting director Frank Baumann.

The Werder Bremen chief has revealed the player wants to leave the Bundesliga side, and they’re currently in discussions with another club over his departure.

Baumann has also confirmed they are targeting Czech international keeper Jiri Pavlenka this summer, and it’s likely 21 year old Michael Zetterer will be installed as Werder Bremen’s No.2.

“Felix has informed us that he wants to leave the club. We are now talking to his agent and another club.”

With reports Wiedwald is close to a deal with Leeds United this puts a question mark over Marco Silvestri’s future, and it’s likely the 26-year-old will return to Italy this summer.
