Napoli are hoping to include a release clause of €60-70m in a new deal for midfielder Allan as they look to tie the Brazilian’s future at the club up.

Allan has been a key player for the Italian side since arriving from Udinese in a £10m deal back in 2015.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with him heavily linked to PSG in January 2019 and then Everton this year.

Indeed, throughout the January transfer window, it was heavily suggested that a move to Everton, where he would be reuniting with manager Carlo Ancelotti could be on the cards, with the Brazilian described as the Everton’s manager’s ‘dream’ signing.

Ultimately he did not end up moving, despite talk of a bid coming from Merseyside, but it has been hinted that Everton could reignite their interest as part of a summer rebuild.

Napoli are looking to thwart such attempts should they come, though, with Il Mattino reporting they are working hard to get Allan signed to a new deal.

The newspaper explains that Napoli see Allan as a ‘central player’ in their project, even for the future and are looking to make that clear with a new deal.

They are planning to offer him an ‘adjustment’ to convince him to stay in Italy, although what they can offer will be heavily dependant on whether they make it into Europe and specifically the Champions League.

While they cannot pay the type of wages PSG were willing to, Napoli’s opening offer is said to be ‘strong’, and they want to discuss adding a release clause, presumably to ward off suitors.

This ‘could vary’ between €60m and €70m, according to Il Mattino, meaning if he were to sign it and clubs wanted him in the summer, that will be his asking price.
