Last week, rumours from the European media said Arthur’s time at Liverpool may not last long. That’s because with the midfielder supposedly failing to impress Jurgen Klopp, he could have his loan spell cut short and be returned to Juventus in the January window.
It turns out, however, there’s now a strong response to that. Earlier today, AS featured a story claiming the player’s time with the Reds ‘has only just began’, as he’s expected to ‘gain prominence’ at the club following the international break.
Now it’s the Brazilian media who comes up to say something similar. TNT Sports’ correspondent in England, Fred Caldeira, claims that despite the rumours of a January departure, Arthur is actually doing fine at Liverpool.
It’s said that Jurgen Klopp is ‘satisfied’ with the midfielder in training, ‘especially because he didn’t do pre-season’ with the Reds. So the lack of time to adapt should convince the German coach to have more patience with the player. It’s also claimed that the manager intends to ‘use him more’ after the international break.
Since completing the switch on deadline day, Arthur was only used by the Anfield side once, as he played the final minutes of the 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.
