Coventry City’s Viktor Gyökeres has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Everton this summer.
A handful of reports have suggested the striker is in talks with the Toffees over a potential deal.
These claims are picked up by FotbollDirekt, relayed by MSN, and they give their own take on the reports linking the 24-year-old to Everton.
FotbollDirekt state ‘reliable sources’ have refuted claims of talks with the Merseyside club for the Coventry City star. They further add there are ‘no negotiations with any club right now’ for Gyökeres.
The Sweden international has two years left on his current deal. The Championship side, down their end, are asking for £12m to sell for their frontman, who scored 18 goals and registered five assists from 47 matches in all competitions last season.
Gyökeres had earlier aroused interest from Fulham, but the case has not progressed any further.
With the report dismissing claims of any possible negotiations with Everton, the Swede could continue at Coventry. He already scored a goal in their 1-1 draw against Sunderland on July 31st.
