Italian website Calcio Mercato Web brings a story on Monday saying Everton are trying to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma.
The outlet makes the timing of the actions a little bit confusing, first saying the Toffees have already tried to take the player in the past few days, then claiming the bid is still to come.
Everton would offer Roma something between €20m and €25m. And by taking his age and salary into account, the Italian side are considering letting him go.
The Premier League side’s plan would be to replace Cenk Tosun, who hasn’t been very convincing, and bring in the former Man City striker to be their main striker.
We at Sport Witness normally cover the claims from calciomercato.com, tuttomercatoweb.com and calciomercato.it, but not calciomercatoweb.it.
Although they aren’t as big as the others, the report gets big coverage from other Italian outlets today, especially those dedicated to Roma news.
However, it’s worth pointing out that the report isn’t in their ‘exclusives’ section, although all the credits from other websites are being given to them.
