Serie A side Napoli have made an attractive offer to Chelsea defender David Luiz, according to reports from Brazil today.
Website UOL claims that the player’s staff has been contacted by four clubs in the past few weeks, but the proposal from the Italian side is the one that pleased him most.
Just like previous reports have been saying, David Luiz is still to decide whether he will stay at Chelsea after the summer or not.
UOL says that the defender wants to remain at the club, but that will only happen if Antonio Conte doesn’t stay in charge for next season.
It’s explained the manager doesn’t have a good relationship with Chelsea’s board and some squad leaders, with David Luiz among them. But Conte isn’t going anywhere until the Premier League club pay him a severance package.
In case the manager stays, then David Luiz has a handful of offers, with this one from Napoli leading the race for now. Reports in Brazil on Luiz are almost always favourable, which may give a good idea of where the information comes from.
